ooops sorry about the link ha ha
- our stock rod class is an out of the box V12 with a control 3300mah battery, and an ABS shell - we do allow uprated steering track rods, servo saver and rear bearings but everything else is as kit - so body mounts, standard speedo with tamiya connector all stay :) - and the racing is fab, very close and great fun

Awesome, thanks Aaron
Team Tom
12-07-2008, 11:16 AM
last year we had over 90 cars in total I remember the number 97 or 98 being said.
this meeting is fab, one of the best meetings around! And a championship is at stake! Thee sussex championship. Will last years champions be back to defend their titles? Will we see new faces taking the trophies? Whos knows, you'll have to be in it to win it. Come along and race!, if not come and have a watch, we are open to the public with Grandstand (viewing) area for spectators!
Hope to see you all there,
Tom

Sounds awesome! If it's in a church does that mean we can't swear if we get taken out? :D
Correct. It is a Family event.
We will have drivers and spectators of all ages, and members of the local community come and watch (especially for the bangers).
As Tom said, nearly 100 cars last year. Some of the best (biggest) trophies are won at this event.

Don't think you will be allowed out side rails on stock rods as they are non contact. so you shouldn't be hitting things;)

Don't think you will be allowed out side rails on stock rods as they are non contact. so you shouldn't be hitting things;)
Correct.
A stockrod is a straight out the box Mardave formula. It uses all of the kit with the exception of servo saver and rear axle may have bearings. It must also be built as per the Mardave diagram, ie no washers under the fron
The batteries are also either 1340, 1850, 1950 or 3300. The only 3300 cells allowed are badged Stockrod. These are available from AK modelsport.
It is a non contact formula.

Correct.
It is a non contact formula.
I REMEMBER GETTING TAKEN OUT A COUPLE OF TIMES IN THE FINAL LOL.

Didnt like the standard of driving, temperamental motors that dont seem to last very long. The constant horsepower battle. And normally the guy with the best cells wins. Finals are normally a lottery depending on if the pole man gets taken out by back markers.
(or at least thats what's happened to me lots anyway)
I may be back yet, it is the worlds coming up after all!

well i hope you are:D and i do understand where your coming from.all be it i think it maybe a bit cleaner now with more faster people are attending.
but i know what you mean from the last nationals it does seem that you need very good cells and motors to be any where near the top 10.
and to think people like stiles and calver etc are not even around at the mo.
looks like the worlds are going to be very very fast and exciting.
its going to be very tough to compete with the 1st worlds though where i think there was only one unfortunate accident.which in my opinion stopped mr potter possibly taking the crown.:(

Ok, On Friday I posted that we would like the WC to attend if he wasn't already entered. (He has).
The organiser (Trevor Hayward) emailed us both yesterday to say the absolute deadline was tomorrow. Programme has already gone to the printers, but drivers will be loaded onto the computer Wednesday / Thursday hence we can take a late entrant.
