I wanna do the saloon stock nationals next year, and I've been workin' hard on getting my car well set up and driving well at club level after a 9 year break since my last nat.
What's the turn out for saloons like now? Last time I raced, we were allowed hotter motors and the Pinky chassis was the norm, but from what I can work out the Mabuchi 540 motors are all that's allowed now - where are you guys getting them from? Is it the same as a G2?
That said, if Aeronaughts are gonna be allowed in saloons next year I might get used to running my car with one of them in...any idea on that from any of the committee?
I guess I'd better get some battery packs that are on the approved lists too - that's a new one on me too!

At least with 8 cars I got a chance of a top 10 finish! :D

I took 'em off last week cos I got bundled in with the hot rods..but they're DEFINITELY going back on for tomorrow mate! :D
I'm gonna try something else with my batteries this week...I've got two 4400 packs and I normally charge them the night before, repeak them before the race, and charge between heats/after practise or whatever. I think that routine is probably a bit hard on them, I alwys lose a lot of performance after the first couple of heats and since my motors getting cooled between heats I reckon it's the cells. Ideally I reckon I need a pack per heat maybe?
Just discharging them now, gonna let them sit pretty flat 'til tomorrow then charge them up when I get there tomorrow. Sound sensible or am I gonna ruin something this way?

Not really got an easy way to measure what's in them, short of a volt meter. Spose that'd work?
Charging at about 4.3A for these ones...

Actually, it felt a bit better last night - the cells didn't 'go off' as much as normal. Obviously, it'd be better if I just had another couple of packs for batteries, a discharge tray and all that gear, but for the meantime it seems to be working (just!)
