Hi all,
I have just bought a new monster stock motor and mvp. I was wondering what sort of gearing i should be looking for with these motors. I am racing carpet with the straight about 30-35 metres long and it is normally a twisty track.
Cheers

Hi Rob
with a monster it would probably be best to gear it quite low to start off with as they are a very high revving motor so you need to get the torque out of it. for the the size track you have described i would say to start on about 7.6 to be on the safe side and then if you are undergeared yo can gear up a couple of teeth. As for an mvp i cant offer much info as i have only had one of them and that was years ago
hope this helps

I believe the rule of thumb for stock gearing is that the motor should be at full RPM 3/4 down the straight.

:D.
Hi.
Depends where the start / finish line is. The car wants to be pulling and accelerating from the last corner to the the start / finish.
