Ok forgive my stupidity here.
Would it be worth me upgrading to the 18 tooth pulleys and the longer belts for club racing?
What are the advantages?
Belt drive is a bit of a black art to me

the pullys and belts free up the drive and lower the internal ratio from 2.4 to 2.1
so unless you need lower gearing theres not much point

less belt wear faster accleration motor further back due to using smaller pinions so better handling

I've just swapped to the 18T pulleys and longer belts to get more suitable gearing for my Novak 10.5SS and the front belt seems a bit tighter than it was on the smaller pulleys and belts.Does anyone know exactly how tight the belts should be? I've heard there should be 1cm of belt to push down but where?

Am I right in thinking that the mark on the diff bearing holder denotes the thickest side. So putting this pointing towards the front of the car for the front spool gives the slackets front belt setting.

I haven't measured each side of the hexaganol bearing holder, are they all different?

you need to re-adjust the bearing holders to the same direction as the kit setting for the front ones, i.e. markings pointing straight towards the front of the car. That gave the right tension for me.....
