Been thinking about putting together a 1/12 circuit car, but they dont seem to have many dates listed on the site. Is now a bad time to be thinking about 1/12th circuit cars??

They don't all ways get the hall, i believe Ralph has booked a meeting for next bank holiday at the end of may.
At milton they only do touring cars, which is this weekend.

Well actually, the deal is the guys that run the club wont get their asses in gear and sort out running a meeting! ...thats myself and 'ralph' on here.
Its difficult at the moment. Ralph is currently tied up with his studies at the which is taking up a lot of his time (from what i figure), and im in london now which makes running a club in cambridge a little difficult. We were shooting for a date early in May, but that didnt work out. The date Stelios just mentioned is news to me tho. TBH im not sure what we're doing. There definatly wont be any meetings in the summer (june, july, august) due to other things goin on, but ill make sure that we get meetings booked over the winter.

I should said that ralph mentioned a meeting at the end of may, and that he hasn't actually booked it, just to clarify.

Hi! No date currently booked I'm afraid. I tried to book the 25th May, but the hall was being used by the 'Over Players' dramatics group. The problem with dates soon after this is that either they clash with Milton, or they're right in the middle of my exams. My last exam is 17th June, but the next two sundays are taken up by the 2nd chesterfield summer shootout meeting and milton, so the next date free is the 6th July! :(. I could get this booked (if hall is free as usual), although I'm guessing we might have to run that meeting without Tom if I do.
Sorry for not getting it all sorted. I didnt book the early May date because it was a bank holiday weekend and several people said they would be away, then the next free date wasnt available. I'll talk to Tom and we'll sort something out.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I used to race at CRCCC when the Crankies were running it - they still racing? It was buggies and saloons back then, used to love that on a Sunday morning. I ran a club in Over too for a while, we used to race at the hall near the church - Ministocks and stuff on the varnished floor. Anyone remember that?
Anyway,if you're gonna be booking some more dates I'll keep an eye out and come and check it out. Thanks guys!

You will have worked out that quite a few CRCCCC members have 1/12 cars, although we only run Touring at Milton since our numbers dropped too low to support two classes. Actually, numbers are up at recent events, primarily to a number of visting guests that have shown up - all are welcome!
The Crankies are not very active now, although Mark did show up a couple of weeks ago and claims to be poised to make a return.
We will be at Milton on Sunday if you have a Touring car to run,

Does Pinky ever show up to race still, speaking of old members?
Not got a touring car currently - got a buggy here somewhere but I'm guessing you dont have a class for those anymore huh?

I think Pinky races Mardaves at the Fulbourn club, but not touring cars anymore.
As John said, new members are always welcome, and you're welcome to turn up and see what we're doing even if you dont have a car to race. :)

How high-spec of a set up do you guys all run? I'd lvoe to get into the tourers again, but cant really shell out a grand on the gear. I could race my Ministock though, I got that already! :D

Some people are running a fairly recent top-end chassis, so there are a few Xray T2 '008s, Mi3s and cyclones about. There are plenty of others who are running more modest kit though. Dugald has been making A-finals with an old Xray FK car and cells that are 7/8 years old, so you dont need a top kit to do well! My car is 2 1/2 years old and I'm up at the top of the A final most weeks. There's nobody really with the full setup of expensive kit at any rate, at least not now Tom's moved! :p . You could probably put a TT01 in the top 5 if you drive tidily, and we usually get a turnout of about 15-20

Flame,
grab a old xray T1 of ebay (around £60) n put ur V12 radio gear in it, thats what i do. (assuming u run electronic speed control that is)
im gonna make a come back over the summer some time with my trusty old T1, with my cheap n cheerfull V12 radio gear in it too (all me good stuff is in my 1/12 car gathering dust...;)
PS, unlike the V12's its non contact............................most of the time :D

...possibly a full 'team' for the 22nd then?! wow
ralph

Looks like it could be! Just counted down the entry list on the CARS club website and there's 42 entered for the 22nd, but that doesn't include me, Tom L, John or Tom P (if he's racing), so it should be a really good turnout.

Yes John still interested, may have to borrow car, still wouldn't mind a lift.
Just booked in today.

TomP just worked out that Round 2 is the day after his school prom, so he won't be coming.
Stel, you can run my GenX if you like, it's pretty much complete - I can get it into a racing state if it rains over the holiday weekend
