It was a good day to go racing with the pants weather and all that.

But quieter than usual but was nice to see some unfamiliar faces.

Well done to Peter with the debut with the S400 :D

See you all next Sunday :D

How did the 1/12th car go on Sunday? I'm itching to get one, i think i've settled on purchasing a RC12L5, but it all depends if they are going to have a regular slot at the club.

We just ran after heats this week. But it looks as though it may go ahead next meeting with potentially 6-8 drivers. Roll on.......

Hi Rob, talking to Keith and Peter after meeting and 1/12th a goer at next meeting and possibly 8min heats:D (come on keith/peter you know it makes sense;)).

And yes Steve it did seem a hectic turn around inbetween heats although you could not put a finger on it? only 3 heats/ four rounds and finals and we still finnished at normal time! must have been enjoying it too much!

Good run with the S400 Peter and you were still not sure about how it run! just wait untill you are:eek::eek:

See you all in two weeks Rob.

Sorry for rushing , it was for the F-1 race but we'll probably not rush next time.

So yes , next time out we will be running a normal heat of 1/12 , it will either be before the tourers or after not sure yet.

S400 went ok , need a bit more turn in, so I might take the front roll bar off - I'm not convinced my brushless system will ever be as good as it used to be unless I buy a new one lol. Track wasn't quite as twisty as the last one (good) still couldn't match Lee's qualifying by a long shot , well done Lee :)

get those 1/12 cars ready !:D

Hi Pete

I should receive my 1/12 in the next few days then just need to get the gear to go in it so should be ready to play as well in a month:cool:

For the 1/12 most of us have 19T brushed motors, but Plasmag has a nice brushless set-up if I remember. I know Pete is going to try a 12T.
As for tyres
Corally silver/golds work Ok with a good additive, not too sure what every one else is running.

For TC any tyre seems to work, Sorex 24's,vtec 24/28's, Schumacher Carpet Dragons.

hi there what tyres and notors are you lot running would like to get up there some time

Dave, its usually 27T in 1/10. You can run additive aswell.

Thanks Peter, hopefully I wont be so unfortunate in the final next time with the batts (fingers crossed) -still got 2nd though!!

My L4 is ready to go with new tyres and a 19T motor to fall into line with the other 1/12 cars (thanks dad). I'm itching to see how Tom does with his, I've never seen him drive a 1/12 car, I think it'll be too fast to imagine

Pete Ive got some bad news for you, Tom had a go with mine at the last meeting and you are right ----- he was very fast:eek::eek:

Raced 1/12 at Chesterfield on saturday and told several drivers about sunday and they were interested as no racing at chesterfield sat night.

See you all sunday.

After running at Chesterfield on Sat night, really looking forward to sunday, have a bit more confidence with the 1/12 now,
Hopefully as Rob said, a few from Chesterfield may be coming to run the 1/12
Can Pete confirm that it will be a Full 4 heats and a final for the 1/12 @ 8 minute runs ?
See you all bright and early Sunday

I've to set it up on the day but YES we will definitely be having full 8 minute heats and a final on the day.

It looks as though it will be a monthly 1/12 meeting after speaking to a few people.

It could be hectic doing two classes  see how it goes , at least there are a few L4's out there for me to look at. Looking forward to it, might be a little tiring to get used to 8 minutes , definitely only running one car :p

slowcoach
08-05-2008, 10:44 PM
Peter, i think its a good idea to run 1/12ths once a month, could get a bit frantic for the drivers running in both classes:eek:. Maybe you could post details of when these 1/12th meetings will run on the events page of the club website?

Unfortunately i cannot make it to this Sundays meeting because i have to work  But i look forward to hearing how the 1/12ths do :)

My L4 is sat here almost ready to go. Just need to decide what make and compound of tire to use, Anyone got any suggestions?

Rob

I will update the events pages and add some new dates next week , if everyone is happy with a monthly 1/12 meet.

I think my tires are new Jaco Purple on the front and Jaco Grey on the rear ? haven't run them yet but that seemed to be what the 1/12 section people seemed to suggest.
