If you mean the kit slicks/semi slick then they need LOADS of additave and then dont give much grip. No good for anything with more than a 540 silver can in it, and dont tend to last very long.

M2 Slicks/M2 Radials, never seen the slicks work anywhere in th UK, but the radials make a very good carpet tyre.

Super Slicks/Super Grip Radials arnt too bad in most weathers, just chose treded or slick according to the track. They both give good grip for ages.

Type A, probably the best tyre Tamiya make works in most temp up to VERY hot, even work in the rain as long as they have never had additave on. Type A's last quite a while, but are past their best after 5 or 6 runs.

Type B, these are rated as for really hot use, and do work well, but it has to be quite warm and they take a little while to warm up to full grip. These last really well, as they are slightly harder than the Type A.

Hope that helps a bit.

Yes, yes Scott,

but Take off don't do them in 26mm, (at least not that I've seen).

Got some HPI 26mm B15-40 comp slicks, probably toilet but gonna give them a whirl.
however, I will laugh if I hhhwhoop your ass through the bends Scott (unlikely ;D)

Thanks for the info Team Tam, I thought th kit tires would be pants, will give the HPI's a go.

Your will be fine on HPI15-40, they are quite close to the TypeA compound. I have a few sets of them (15-40) as they are the control tyre at the Don Vally Indoor Winter Champs. I think they use them in the HPI Challenge too.

Don't rule out Sorex tyres with B-Medium inserts. the 20R's are great in winter, 24R's for carpet, 28R's for the Schumacher BTCC. ;)

No I won't Gary,

just need a dry day to test out the HPI's I'll see how I go from there.

What do people mean when they put letters and numbers when describing the tires e.g. 24R and T26(just made them up so dnt laugh if they dont exist) are the numbers how wide the tire is e.g. 24 = 24mm and 26 = 26mm
