I have read that the fusion suspension mounts allow the outside holes to be used on the hubs without 'stretching' the arms to the point they are weak so I have bought them and am installing them...

I was wondering what the advantages are of using the lower hole instead of the higher on on the suspension mount?

Thanks

the lower hole on the suspension mount will adjust the camber change of your car, the lower the hole the more camber change you have.

I would normally only run 1 or 2 degrees of camber so it shouldn't matter which hole I use?

CJ meant camber change while the wheel moves upwards. the lower hole will cause the negative to increase (more negative) as the suspension is compressed.

This will affect the cornering characteristic of the car, a brief explaination is in set-up info section in the Mission manual.

BTW if you use the outer holes in your hub you will need to file the inner hole shoulders down or it will foul the camber link ball cups.

yeh what i meant was that as you drive into a corner and your car leans in on its suspension then you will feel the effects of running a higher or lower turnbukle link.

if you run the lower link compared to the higher link, as you enter the corner the outside wheels will be given slightly more camber (eg improve grip)

this is known as camber change and remo is right, it should be explained in your manual! ;)

I understand now so I'm off to do three things;

Move to the lower hole
File the inner hole on the hub slightly
and read the manual ;)

Probably a stupid question, but i've just read this and remember from other threads that people use these mounts, but what good do they do?.

Put very simplistically i always round that they made the car much sharper, in many ways a little twitchy. Although the lap times often did improve. Personally i was never totally convinced, and didn't run one on the back of the car as i didn't like it.

I've not taken them off since first running them. I though the car felt more stable, and run them front and rear.

Matt and I are quite happy to disagree on set up ;)

I run the lower hole to get more turn in and rear grip. Make the car a bit more scarey - and as Jason's says scary is fast, safe is slow 8)

Mark and I on the other hand are happy to agree on set up, execpt Ashby ;)
General rule is to run lower hole on the rear at all times.
Front, low grip lower hole high grip upper hole.

Like Mark once fitted they never came off the car.
