Has any one got any idea what is happening about 10.5 brushless motors for use at BRCA, TORC etc race meetings?

It is only just over 2 weeks until the first TORC and just over a month until the first BRCA and still no 10.5 motors on the homologation list.

Is it going to be a case of having to use a 19t brushed motor with LiPo instead?

I hope not, as was looking forward to the latest technology in motors and batteries as got fed up with skimming motors and having to look after my NiMh's so rigorously all the time last year and with the introduction of Brushless and LiPo's should make the race meetings far more relaxed and less frantic. :(

Hopefully there will be some motors which can pass the scrutineering rules fairly soon.

If the worst comes to the worst, the first meeting will probably have to be run using brushed...yuck :'(

Nosram are releasing a spec motor (check out the front page of mirage), looks like that could be legal but until the list is sorted we'll not know.
Looking at what Steve Cann said in the BRCA thread, it looks as though the BRCA is waiting for certain distributors to prove that they can supply the stock that will be required before putting the motor on the list.

Not looking forward to the prospect of running brushed at aldershot, be a pain to have to get brushed and brushless motors!

Nice to know that some can read threads in other sections;)

The position is pretty much unchanged as we are still waiting for the motors to arrive in the country. The distributors should be able to tell you exactly when they are getting their shipments but it will be before the Nationals and with a bit of luck within the next two weeks.
