Hello people out there!!!! Thinking that more heads are better than one could i have some suggestions to improve the set up on my cyclone moore speed ?

I race indoor 27t stock with a moore speed cyclone. The best setup I have found so far is the newest version of Andy Moore's basic indoor setup But with these changes !

Front springs; yellow
Front stabilizer; 1.6mm
Front drive; oneway
Carbon rear deck

My main problem is that I can not accelerate hard out of corners without the car trying to loop out. Fast corners the car is planted but when the corner tightens up it feels like the back starts to lose grip then when you try to accelerate out the car try's to spin round ?

A spool does not change this !
suggestions please ?

You could try a number of things;

A bit more rear droop - in case the rear inside wheel is lifting/diffing out.

A bit of anti squat - preventing the rear end from 'squatting' might send the weight transfer into the rear tyres, rather than it being absorbed by the shocks. This may result in improved rear grip when you get on power.

These suggestions could be completely useless, but they are what I would try, so they are probably worth a go, hehe. For the record, I've always found a tight rear diff improves the car significantly off power; it stops the rear end from stepping out so easily. I guess it makes the car want to push a little, as if it had a solid rear axle...

Tried anti squat to no avail I have also tried more droop that did not help either but I only put 1mm more droop on maybe I should try even more ?

what droop are you running?

Softer rear spring?

I had the same problem with the hara spec. car. The way I solved it was to get rid of the oneway diff and use a normal diff and put the one way pulley in. this seems a work well on rubbers for me.

I have 5mm rear droop

A diff would lose to much drive out of the corner !

I have tried softer springs which was better acceleration out the corner but the suspension collapsed mid corner sending the car sideways ?

You could try increasing the wheel base.
Maybe keeping the rear shocks at the standard positions, with softer springs. So keeping the rear shocks quite vertical, with blue springs. It could be tempting to harden the front to try and stablise the rear end but this can unbalance the settup, losing cornering. So I would try and stay within 2 spring rates apart in the set, so if your on blue, the front would be either silver, pink, or gold (at a push) but i think yellow may be to hard.
Im not sure what rear spring rates your running but blue rear, pink front or silver rear, gold front would be a good place to go from...
If you find that doing that doesnt help, stay with it and try changing some other things,
Maybe you could try taking both rollbars off all together, or even changing your bodyshell/ additive type/ procedure... Try running less than full additive at the front, leaving off 1/4 or so on the outside, or putting the front additive on afew minutes after the rears..

I'm not saying that these things will definatly make it work better for you, but i think that they would definatly be worth a go if you havent tried already.
Please somebody correct me if any of my advise is way out.. :) cheers

im running the moorespeed setup, but one hole lower on the rear shocks and 4mm droop, even with a 4.5 the rear end sticks

Yes its good advise Andy and I agree with what you are saying !
Even though the handling is not quite how I want it I am still bringing the cyclone home first at my local club:D KMCC, but I just cant seem to get the rear end grip that I want. Even when I go to hinkley to race I see A Moore's car has good rear end grip, my car has the same setup but a loose back end:confused: somewhere I am missing something ( A Moores skill ;) )but I just cant see what? the only things I can think of is the tightness of the rear diff or shock oil or shock rebound!

I have tried most things but there is so many combinations to try:eek:

this week I finished with Pink front springs, Blue rear, 6mm front droop, 4mm rear droop,1.6mm front roll bar, 1.2mm rear roll bar, quite a way from my base setup and it was no better:( I just keep driving round the problems.

What bodyshell are you using john?
If you are running at hinckley then you should get quite a while between races, try putting your rear additive straight away after your run and the front afew heats later on..
Yes, if your rear diff is to slack it will make the rear end feel loose!, try tightening it until it becomes quite abit less free when spinning one wheel. You should be able to get it fairly tight.
Also, if you are going to run a front oneway, make sure you try running a solid center axle rather than the oneway type..
