there is a clip that you can put over the shaft of the spur gear to avoid this. Like a twit i can't remember what they are called:o:mad: Jay runs them hope he can post but when i remember will post it. Well for starters it is round with like wings on the sides and gives a spring affect in the shaft so that it is held together, they can be fpound in your local diy shop i would have thought. Will get back to ya wen i remember what they r called:)

its called a double ear clamp (used to sear pipes) it does make a difference (also stops the twisting of the axel)
if you type that into google it should come up or pm me if not dude
hope this has helped!

I used to boil mine in a pan for about 20, 25 minutes - seemed to help a lot! Dunno why, mind...

Heating the nylon relieves stresses inside its structure. When its moulded, if it cools a bit quick the structure is left quite brittle and prone to breaking on sudden impact.

Its exactly the same as hardening/tempering steel - to do that you heat it up and cool it quickly. Makes it hard, but brittle. Heating it again and letting it cool slowly tempers it and makes it tougher again (but softer too).
