v2 motors

has anyone else had probs with burning the brushes in these motors,im running 11/2 in a xxx4 on a 19 pinion with 92 spur,with a mtronics cirrus speedo, thanks trekkker

I run a 10x1 V2 on 17 or 18 / 92 for a BIG track. Try gearing yours to 18/92 or if its a short track, try 17/92.
These motors do need to be allowed to rev up.

On Thursdays at the small track, I run 16/92 on a 11x1 Orion Core modified and after the race the motor is warm, not hot.

In my experience, it is better to undergear slightly, rather than overgear.
Try it and see.

The instructions with the motor do say not to overgear as this will lead to burning com/brushes. It says that undergearing will not harm it in this way. So you have probably overgeared.

Try gearing lower to start with and gradually gear up, until you've enough top speed on straight.
