was just wondering how good the steering rack is compared to a servo saver i still run a servo saver but it means that i have to mount the servo further back by turning the mounts around and this puts a more angle on the steering turnbuckle from the servo so what i would like to know is do i kneed to run the servo saver or can i rely on the steering rack? if you understand what i mean

Hi piers,
the steering racks own saver shoud be adequate. I have not broken any servos ever in the tc3, and i have had them for 3 years now. saying that, my brother has broken many, but this has since been sorted with a metal geared servo. The tc3 servo arms in my opinion are top notch, and have used them in many cars, I find aftermarket servo savers seem to slip.

Piers, I had a load of problems with my KO servo when I first fitted it (gears stripping) even with the built in servo saver properly adjusted. I then bought a small servo saver and had to dremel out some of the support webbing to make it fit. It hasn't caused any problem with the car and that way the turnbuckle link stays in the right place.

It's only part of the webbing in front of the servo you need to remove, and only enough to fit a servo saver. If you decide to have a go I'll take a picture of my chassis and you can see how I've done it if it would help?

I'm sure the installed rack saver does work, but with the plastic gears of the KO713 (and my driving!), it just wasn't good enough.

What I did on my son's TC3 was to raise the servo mounting blocks off the chassis with a couple of 3mm spacers. Then the kibrough (sp?) servor save worked fine.

He also had the issues of 713 gears stripping ;D, which is why I did it!

Might be your servo is less fragile as well - it all helps and great if you don't need to make the mod.
