Can someone tell me the weight of a TIR Driveshaft for the HB Cyclone WCE? Im trying to find out if they're worth forkng out the cash for. Im 29 grams over weight with brushless etc etc. I am asking as TIR didn't reply to the e-mail i sent.
many thanks
Warren
Hi Warren,
I weighed these a while ago. I don't remember the actual weights but the TIR axles were a couple of grams heavier than the stock aluminium ones, however, the TIR axles are lighter than the stock ones so TIR axles + TIR driveshafts were lighter than HB aluminium driveshaft + HB axles. I think there was only about 2 grams in it.
Also, TIR driveshaft pins are quite soft. Fine for 19t or stock if you're using the plastic diffs, not so good in mod with a steel spool.
A set of alumiunium screws should save you 20-30g
Good luck,
Jason

i've got titanium screws, saved 20g's and a low profile servo saved 22g's but im still 30g's overweight.

I have HB Cyclone with lrp brushless speedo, Orion Vortex motor, normal size KO servo, KO 301f receiver and my car is bang on 1500g
the rest of the car is standard moore speed version no hop up's ?
What body do you run ? long wire's ? foam tyre's?
edit titanium hinge pin set would take the most off next ! Or what about these if you can get hold of them

edit titanium shock shafts, edit layshaft, carbon center deck. trim you body post's ? Losi servo tape and no servo mounts ?

running 6 cell stock. as soon as i can move over to li-po there wont be any problems. but for now its a pain. im 20g overweight atm but i think the Novak 13.5SS is the main weight problem at the moment. Ill put up with that until i go li-po for torc etc.

I race 13.5 brushless too, I still seem to have no problem with weight but the brushless system is defo heaver than brushed.
I have been testing Trak Power battery's for Modeltech ! be warned if you do not weight the lipo's up the car tends to flip on high grip tracks. But you should be able to leave off 20g with no harm:D
We have plans for a new top deck & lay shaft mount so I can run the 220g of lead weight under the battery to keep the weight low:) and the gold bling batterys looking good on top:cool:
