The below Post is from BRCA's Jim Spencer

However If a spectator or other member of a club gets hurt in an accident from an exploding Lipo (not that theydo when treated properly) I am sure you would find some lawyers trying to make a case against a payout due to the fact its not in the section rules and that the club maybe the only one in the country running Lipo and its not the normal power source that is used in the Touring Car class.

Nope, No, definatly Not etc etc etc...

The real world (i.e that outside of RC Car Racing...) doesn't work like that.

The Insurance we have is PUBLIC LIABILITY, it has nothing to do with the products we use in our cars.

The ONLY rules which restrict our cars are those in the General rules.

You could quite happily run 1/7th scale, powered by a flux capacitor at your local club and the insurance company wouldn't give a monkeys..

You have to look at the sport with a totally detached view and with an "educated in the world of motorsport" hat on when working out the risks of what we do, and the ultimate risk (to them) is 1m long, weighs 20kgs and has a race tuned 29.99cc 2 stroke in it > everything else is secondary.

All of the above has of course been gone through - at length - which the insurers in any event.

to summarise:-

LIPO's Are NOT a problem under the BRCA public liability cover in any way shape or form.

Anybody posts this question again - somebody copy and paste this answer :D
