Help Neede Tamiya TA04R & F201

Hello Fellow Tamiya owners

I have just taken ownership of a TA04R Tuned and a F201.

What pinion and gear do i need to use for the Tamiya RS540 silver can motors ?


Any hints/help tips on this would be grately appreciated.

Hi there,

Nice choice ;)

for the 540, just about any pinion will do, bigger the faster top speed, smaller the quicker to accelerate.

Actual size for the TA04 depends which spur gear you running, 128 120 or 112 or is it the bigger tooth one (the 0.6module one cant remember the size)? for a 540 i would try something like 112/45 or so, if that fits.

For the F201, you should get hold of the speed tuned gear set for it and just fit the biggest pinion you can. I havnt got one so i cant help much more than that.
