Coming back from KOGP I am considering buying a new car to run alongside my TC3, as my TC3 is over a year old now, and while I'm happy with it, I'm not sure it suits my driving style. I like the XXX-s, partly as it TQ'd today (!), but also due to the quietness - the gnashing of gears on the TC3 is not a pretty sound!

I am posting to ask of you're experiences with the car - are you impressed with it, any must have hopups, is it fragile? etc etc... I am thinking of going for the graphite version as I'm a bit of a poser so would only end up upgrading anyway!

when i first went out on myne it felt like it was "glued" to the road, i could steer under full throttle as on my tc3 it would just spin out.

the straight line speed is just as good

building the diffs is literally 10 times easier.
you will really notice the differance.

i also went out to get the g+ and since then have added
red ali steeing braces (to strengthen)
red ali shock rings (makes it easier to set ride height)
red ali wheel hex's

the xxx-s isn't the strongest car out there so you'll need a few a-arms steering knuckles
etc

Hi bud i must say i would get a losi if i was u when i first got back in to racing i had the standard losi xxxs and in my second race it put me in the b final of a national event. I then changed and neva got back in the b at this event. I then had a go of my mates at my local track and did my fastest time eva there so there must be sumthin right about it. Go on have a belt drive car be diffrent!!!!! (they will all copy soon)

Hi, ive had a losi xxx-s G+ for about 5 weeks now, i bought one new to build and race, and another for spares, but i have not broken that much, what i have gone through, 2 shock shafts, front bumber was not put on properly so these broke, and 1 rear wish bone, another driver drove into as i was stuck on a track marking, suppose it was my fault for crashing! ::)

so i think its a great car, and not alot of spares are needed. Just so i also sound like a good driver, i also got Track record for my local track, 2 seconds clear of another losi!

hi, Ive had my XXX-S for about a week and have used it twice, it seems very good and is very easy to work on. I was surprised at how quiet it was, at the weekend i was racing in a final against 4 TC3s and it was so quiet. It was very competitive first time out.

I have had my xxxg+ sysnce march and its superb, indoors its a misile, and on tarmc well, what can I say, I have had problems myself with trurn in to corners on tarmac and the car wanting to change ends but I have hopefully sorted that. as for backages I have only brocken one front wishbone when someone came across the track from across the grass at bedworth and I hit them full chat, and brocken a rear wichbone when some one drove into the back of me whilest I was wating on the grid at Ipswich. other than that I love it. Very easy to build and maintain, and all them tuning features ;D

Also you can only get the XXXG+ now, the only way you can get the XXXS is in the ready to run kit.

Thanks for the feedback.... I want one >:( Have to get saving my pennies!!

R.E.: The Drivetrain. Do the belts need any special attention e.g.: an overnight soak in WD40 and is there anything I need to be careful with regarding the drivetrain as I really dont understand the one belt system. I've heard rumours of belt tension being critical and belts skipping under high loads etc. Any truth behind this, and how is it prevented?

Hi

i never myself have had problems with the belt slipping. except for under heavy breaking which i was told was normal.

it is important to set the belt tensioner just right as if you overtighten you will create unnescasary drag and to loose the belt will get damaged.
to make sure it's right tighten the tensioner. you should be able to move the belt 0.6-1 cm up and down for the best result.

Yep agree with Mike, I have had the same belt synce I got the car back in march, and there is not allot of noticabe strech in the belt ;D I fine if I run stock I run the belt tentioner fully loose, but on mod which I ususally run I adjust it to that then I push the tentioner down, when the belt just start to get taught i back it of about 1mm and job done.

You don't need to treat the belt with anything as the belt isn't made of the same fiberous stuff usuall black belts are made of, it seams to be more of a rubbery typer of stuff.

As for the belt tentioner I will be the first to say I have never seen a better one on any belt drive car, so easy to adjust. ;D

love my xxx-s to bits. wouldn't change it for the world.
transmission is excellent, reliable etc, and diffs are easy to change for 1 way/ fixed etc.....

run, buy , enjoy. ;D
