It looks like we have all been fooled a little with the new Xray car. There isnt one car, there are two..

The first one is a mini version of the Evo2 built for four cells as a direct competitor for the Yokomo mini version. Compatible with nearly all the spare parts for the evo

The car does not match the pitures on the teaser video, still think it is a micro chassis to go head to head with the hpi micro.

It looks like the new short euro spec arms are actualy the arms from the mini chassis.

Makes a lot of sense, why would xray produce mouldings for just one race meeting.

I would imagine there wil be a conversion package consisting of wishbones, driveshafts, tie rods, front belt, chassis and top deck and battery holder.

The bodyshell is one thing I am not sure on, where are you going to get one of these? the only one I know of is the Yokomo shell for there mini. Has Xray tied up with another manufacturer or are there other aftermarket shells available for this size already....

Sounds interesting. I'm sure all will become a bit clearer when the new projects are released, which i beleive will be at the chicago toy fair. (could be wrong)

Why bother creating a car for a race class that doesn't exist ?

I imagine this car will be as sucessful as the HPI mini or Yokomo
mini !! ! ! ! !! ! (anyone ever seen one)

Why not develop a buggy or nitro racer ?

Thats what I thought as well. However, in some overseas markets the yokomo mini has taken of very well. As have the HPI micro cars which I believe the "other" secret chassis is.

You dont need a lot of brains to build a mini version of an amazing tourer. the fun aspect alone would be enough to tempt some. I would expect it to be a low volume sales kit.

It is an easy way for a manufacturer to extend his range. I think it would have made more sense to have a plastic tub, or possibly use a fibreglass (god no, xray not using the best?/??) chassis to keep costs down. If they can knock out a kit for under £180 then it might sell a few kits to club level racers.

this may sound as a stupid question but could it run in 1/12th scale?

HI Guys,

Am thinking of getting one of these cute little cars, but have a few questions:-

1. do the cells have to go down one side, or can you get them as a 2x2 saddle formation.

2. if they must go down one side can it be either side?

3. Anyone ever tried one or seen one? How does it go?

Thanks,

James
