2 blokes from Guernsey looking to do a few ic touring car meetings in the UK. Can anyone suggest the best places to enter to get maximum race time for our 300 mile round trip !
We are already committed to a number of off road events so any guidance would be appreciated
Cheers

Aldershot is one of the more active clubs in the south, unfortunately it's let down by a small minority of their members who are constantly mouthing off about marshalls, if you can live with that the facility is pretty good.
Both LRRC and Brooklands are new clubs and in the process of developing their respective memberships. LRRC runs an indoor venue with nitros allowed and is proving very popular at this time of year, although the track is very small. Brooklands is a large track, is very close to Lydd airport which has flights to the channel islands, but as with all outdoor tracks is suffering with the weather at the moment, but come the summer months the numbers should swell because this is an excellent venue that has really started to push nitro tourers. :)
Can't comment on Mendip or Crystal Palace because I have'nt been to either.

You'd better tell me who they are as I don't have that problems at the meetings I run.
Are you sure you have the right track? 'cos I would hate to have to run your club down.

For my money, I would recommend Halifax and Mendip, if you're just looking to do a couple of meetings.
Mendip is a fast, large and varied layout. We didn't go there last season and it was sorely missed.
Halifax, what can you say? A fantastic circuit, fast with a few deceiving corners to keep you on your toes and with Bev' and Muriel in race control, probably the best meeting you'll get all year.

if Aldershot were at all bad they would not be holding IC nationals would they??
back on topic, if you contact many clubs i would say as your doing so much travelling they would (poss for a small fee) let you run on the Saturday as practise, i know
Halifax would help considering your travelling!

Chris,
I am one of the committee members for Brookland, you are more than welcome to come and race with us, we will ensure that you have a fantastic weekend, and since you have so far to travel, we could even arrange some sort of weekend entertainment. Let us know when you're over and well arrange a Saturday evening to meet all the members etc etc (Perhaps a drink of two ..........)
with regard to Aldershot, they have a good turn out and a nice bunch of racers, I'm sure that you'd have a good race weekend there too. Sorry I don't have detaisl of who to talk to there but look at www.amcc.org.uk
if you have any questions regarding Brookland, and the Kent IC Club then PM me or call me on 07957 353 768 and I'll be pleased to find details of places to stay, etc etc etc, plus our calander of race dates.
Our website is currently under development, but there are some details on www.kenticclub.co.uk
With best regards

i think thatthe snetterton track kicks censored for nitro racing. i ahve raced all over the place and it is one of the best tracks i have raced at with my impulse. its really flat and wide, perfect for nitro racing!
language please!
I would have rated Halifax as the best IC track.
Shame it's a 4 hour drive away for me.

Tibshelf, Halifax and Teesside are all tracks worth considering, all are very fast tracks with ample pitting space.
Hope this helps

how about mendip!
to be honest look at the nationals listing!
NOTE this does not mean other clubs are not as good and we may see some more clubs holding nationals next year!!
