I realise that Bashley is next but i'm of on holiday next week.
So,
Hello everyone, here is some useful info for anybody attending the STCC Round 7 on Sept 23rd.

Firstly i'll start with the bad news.
Sorry guys but we are unable to provide over-night camping at our track. There is a camping site about 5 minutes drive away,http://www.ukcampsite.com/east-of-en...er-caravan.htm
And the nearest travelodge is only 1/2 mile(but on the A12 north bound carriageway)http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel/hotel_id/27/ColchesterFeering.

For people with 'Sat-nav' the nearest postcode to us is CO5 9EZ.

There will be open practice available on the saturday before(22nd Sept)from 9.00am until 4.00pm.
I know that many clubs dont charge for practicing on Saturdays but due to our planning conditions and arrangements with our landlord,we have to 'oil some palms' so to cover the costs of running practice there will be a £3.00 charge for the day per person, payable at the race-control.

Generators will be allowed but please be thoughtful of other racers.

When entering or leaving the track our 'lane' is a bit bumpy so please drive slowly.

If i think of anything else i'll add it here and on the STCC website forum.

We look forward to seeing you and keep fingers crossed for good weather.

Thanks Paul Bellinger (Club sec.)

shurly the 3.00 practise fee should come out the pot as we have already paid for the season racing.

You have Stuart, but that is for race day, not a practice day.

I know your a little short after blowing some cells up, so maybe Neil can help grease some palms for you  hehehehehehehe

does seem a bit cheeky paying for practice.like you say no other tracks do this and i cant see that planning has anything to do with it.just a greedy landlord club.

Sorry to be blunt but if you dont like it,then dont come on saturday.
We as a club are suffering,as are many, from declining numbers. I'm sure other club organisers would agree keeping a facility running is not cheap and its unfortuanate that that we have to pass our costs on.
We obviously dont know how many are going to turn up on the Saturday, and it's going to cost us wether theres 2 or 22 turn up.

As for taking it out of the 'pot',we as a club only see £3 per head from your entry fee.The rest goes to the STCC.
Once you've knocked off £100+ for the 'Porta-potty' hire, and then some more for usual running costs. We'll end up with something around £150,which is roughly what we would get on a normal club week. Then you knock off rent and track up-keep,etc.Theres not a lot left.:(

Thought???
I bet you dont complain about burning out 2,3,4 sets of brushes at £3 a pair?

Hopefully most of you know us as a club or personally and know we're not in it for a quid or two but for a good days racing.

Paul.

I agree with Paul B totally, my local club has stopped running as we werent getting the numbers we used to! Would hate to see another club fold becuase of this!

What you have to think is you have paid, £8 entry, £30 petrol (depending where you come from), £50 hotel, 2 sets of tyres £45, £x food for the weekend, is £3 really going to make any more difference!

yeah i agree with you that its only 3 quid.but youve got to stop spending somwhere.the hobby can be expensive enough.i only surport myself raceing but there are other people who race that have maybe there son sons aswell as themselfs so it would soon add up for them.

like stu said maybe if this was mentioned at the begining of the season so people that havent been before know.

Stuart, this has absolutely nothing to do with the STCC or the series organisers. The STCC, like all the other regional/national championships, DO NOT organise or support practise days and never have done. In 5 years of the STCC series you will have only ever found Chris and I at 2, that is in over 42 rounds to date!
As organisers we do it to try to reduce the overall costs of competing by not supporting this activity. However, if you choose to do it, which is totally within your rights, then yes you may be charged a small fee for the use of the track. If this is the case it is entirely down to the hosting track. Running and maintaining a track is not a cheap operation these days at all, and it is their right. As has already been stated, the charge they might make is pretty insignificant to the total cost of you participating in any unofficial practise day ;)
So I am sorry if this is abhorrent to you, but in reality honestly is it really that big a deal.......

the whole idea of this series, which is wonderful series,
is to run a cheap cost race series which is not a national
without the costs of a national .which means if people travel
down on sat and wear out motors tyres etc this moves it away
from a clubmans series who struggle just to make raceday.

the first year the series was run
practice was not allowed on race weekends (on saturday or sunday morning)
much more in keeping with the clubmans idea IMHO
but not an easy thing to police i guess

Well there won't be a debate regarding costs & Saturday practice at Coastal,:( as racing of anyform is not permitted on any day other than Sundays.:'(
This is not a fault of the club, but would be in breach of planning permission. So practice will cost you more on any of the club meetings on Sundays.:D
Lets not knock clubs but support them !!
