Can anyone give any tips/advice on how to fit and remove the axle roll pins easily in the hubs?

What do you mean exactly? I never had a problem with that.

I find it very tough getting them in, stopping the axle from spinning at the same time. I had to use a hammer to knock them in but I am worried about damaging the hub/bearing. There must be an easier way?

hi,
use a pair of pliers if they are tough, rest one jaw against the driveshaft/axle and the other jaw against the end of the hinge pin, it shoud be quite easy.

i used to wrestle with roll pins in the tc3, but an easier solution is to just give them a shave with a dremel tool or some sandpaper to make them smaller. they shouldnt be loose but also having to use a hammer is a bit drastic!

Just cut an old allen key to the right length, cheap and they're quite a bit tougher than the split-pins :)

Managed to find a tip of my own, put a drop of oil in the hole and the roll pin went in a lot easier then and easier to centre.
