Hey all,

Setting up my SD I decided to do droop setup ... I put 5 on the rear and wanted 7 on the front, however the lowest I can get it is 9... I lengthened the shocks to 62.5mm and (from 61) to get 7.5 ... Is this an anomolous amount to worry about? or should I try to get it to 7

i don,t understand what your say m8

you cannot get less than 7.5mm of droop ??? thats to say from rest your car is able to be raised by 7.5mm before the wheels would leave the ground ??

It is at 7.5mm on the front..

I require to get it to 7 ...

Should I lengthen my shocks more to get to this or should I worry about the 0.5mm?

I asume that you mean your trying to get the centre of the axle line 7mm above the underside of the chassis.

If so then lengthen your shocks a bit.

I normally work to +/-0.01 of a mm when setting up ... so yes be worried about it and find a solution ... then share it with me!!

I assume you all measure droop by using the yoke droop gauge?

If so couls someone please convert 7mm and 7.5mm of this droop into the maximum ride height you can get the car to (cos I find this much easier to understand :) )

I will lengthen my shocks by 0.5mm, this should get my 7mm but I am afraid the shocks will run out of thread to turn out...

I dont use the yoke droop,

I use the 2 blocks and droop thing, cant remember what company they from... Possibly Fastrax?

So what is the most ride height you can achieve?

MattWinyard

Dunno, but the maximum I would ever run would be about 7mm RIDE HEIGHT ... not droop...

I usually run 5.5 to 6mm Ride Height.

no, pick the car up, at what height is the chassis when the wheels leave the ground??

I run mine at about 10mm

About 11 mm Front and Back

Chris, just as a side note the way you measure droop will depend on tyre size as well. Something to consider when swapping info. ;)

Good thinking....

I run Carpet Dragons on my car, I think they are a fairly bulky tyre... could be wrong though...

Yes I know Stu - but _most_ (not all but most) rubber tyres are the same size.

I find it a lot less fiddly to do droop like this rather than with a gaugey thing :) (mebbe im just fic :P).

well, technically its more accurate to do it on componenets that wont wear to setup... and no tyre is the same...

Not saying the chassis is the same all round at all but it just sounds better to setup on the chassis to me, my opinion though I s'pose ...

I agree its technically better but its mroe hassle and im just lazy :P

the front droop problem is cured when you run the rear shock tower. was you running a rear shock tower ?

al :)

Errr.. not running rear shock tower obn the front although I intend to try it, that will effect the cars setup more than just droop though!
