I have just spent the weekend trying to build my new RC Lab 7-7 club.

It's been a bit of a shock to the systme as previously I have only had a Tamiya TL01. Assembling the RC Lab is a little different - I have also had to build all my saddle packs after never having had them before and have delved into the world of corally style connectors instead of tamiya and so on.

I think I have just about got there now apart from a few little niggles (only has 3 shocks and one steering column at the moment as there were a few ommissions from the kit).

Anyway, just got to sort those few things out when I have the new parts, do the body and I am there.

Just thought I would say hello as a new RC-Lab owner. Looking forward to trying it out on Thursday at the local club.

While I am here I am having a bit of trouble with my steering linkage. My steering servo is on the right hand side of the car with the servo arm coming out at the rear end of the servo.
THe problem is that the wheels turn to a much greater angle one way than the other. I am not sure i have the linkages right as the instructions were a little vague on this point. Are there any pictures of this that I can look at to see how it should be done?

Is it a bellcrank or a steering post that's missing? Surely you can't set the linkages up unless you have both in place?

Steering post. I've set up the steering linkages on the right hand side so the right wheel works ok. Left doesn't.

I think I have sorted it now. I looked at the GT3 manual and realised that I had attached one of the linkages on the wrong side of the steering arm - silly mistake. Should have noticed it my self.

Seems to work fine now. May need a little tinkering when I get it on the track but seems to be OK for now.

Thanks for the reply.

Glad you've sorted it. The car is quite responsive to changes in the length of the draglink between the two bellcranks, and there's a little trick to getting them to the right length: -

Make up the link and get it to roughly the right length by eye, then put a screw through each ballend. Take the top deck and put one of the screws into one of the holes for the steering post, then adjust the length of the link until the other screw drops into the hole for the other steering post.

Ahhhhh - thanks. Will remember that for when I get my second post tomorrow.

Only thing that I am not happy about, and is cheap to sort out, is the turnbuckle that is supplied for the steering bellcarnk to servo saver, mine is just a tadge to short, which means I have had to crank the servo saver over towards the steering bell crank. But that is something minor.

Otherwise, cracking kit, and VERY quick.

One other thing to check, when you got the front upper deck on, is the belt tension. If the belt is tight, take it back off, and take a small amount of the front of it, equally on both sides mind, and it free's the belt up a treat!!!.

I was actually thinking that the front belt was a bit loose - compared to the back anyway. The back has the belt tnsioner thing but the front doesn't.
