As subject really, where is the best place to stick my personal transponder in the Mission?

Cheers

A couple of us at Ipswich have then mounted on the front bumper moulding. Mine is on the top, the other person has his mounted underneath. This seems to work quite well.

I did have mounted on the top deck next to the front suspension mount but I did have problems with the odd lap being missed. And our track has one of the strongest signal strengths Rob Nelson of BBK had seen!

Most common mounting place is on top of the servo. Close to reciever for wireing, and on the correct side to help balence the car out!!!

Andy,
I put mine behind the motor, in the gap in front of the wheel - nice and safe place!

Cheers all, decided on Johns place. Had to cut the lugs off though but it certainly wont get damaged down there. The only minor concern I had was if the racing was close, then having the pt at the back might be a disadvantage.

Hmm I'm thinking it would be better at the front. I may move it and stick it on the front bumper mount, the bit that slopes down.

I was under the impression that thePT should be mounted anywhere in between the front and rear shock towers?

And with no carbon between it and the loop. The servo location should be the best place for it.

My advice would be to avoid mounting PTs on the servo or other electrical bits (assuming the AMB loop is under the track). It has caused problems for some of our guys (with various cars) - the symptoms are occasional missed laps, which is a real pain.

Andy - if you are racing close enough for the length of the wheelbase to be a problem, then go faster! Actually, this can only be a problem in finals. In heats you start your own clock when crossing the line, so mount position makes no diff to heats time.

I ran mine on top of the servo all last season, as well at some club meetings. I also mount my KO TD1 (KO PT as used at DMS) there. Don't think i have missed a single lap.

Most people screw them in to the front bumper and then run the wires over the shock tower and to the reciever.
