Has anyone produced a chart to compare the various makes of brushless motor winds with brushed?
I can see that a 10.5 is comparable with 19turn but I also see from their website that a Novak 5.5 is recommended for competition touring cars and Lrp combination of Sphere TC Spec has a 4.5 with it.
I can see that a 3 star is equivalent to an 8turn brushed but what wind is a 3 star  Help!
I'm looking for a brushless combo for touring cars on carpet which compares with a 10t - 12t brushed motor.

Basically, your stuffed on any proper comparison, because it depends on...

Sintered or bonded rotor - the sintered is more powerful than a bonded in the same can.
Speedo - some are more adjustable than others, giving you the chance to use the power in a way better suited to your driving, but limiting your choice of motors.
There appears to be no comparison between BL of the same description. Novak's 10.5 is not apparently as close to an LRP 10.5 as a Corally 19T is to a Checkpoint 19T!

My best advice is to go for anything around 6.5 (about 10T) or above, and then fit a bonded rotor for speed if you need it (not BRCA legal!). That way you get two motors (korma and tandoori) for the price of one motor and one rotor, rather than two motors. HTH :)
