I saw the "NEW CAT" down at Tiverton sun/4th. It was only a week old so it's still at the prototype stage. It did look nice, plenty of purple...Simon did TQ with it as it was but then again he could TQ with a wet pice of toast & 4 cotton reel's...
If your lucky it might be out after April but dont bank on it,... im lookink forward to a new Fireblade...ooops...

was the new cat running the mission style chassis layout? I hope so, cos I want a new 4wd off roader that doesn't use saddle packs, and I dont want a Yoke . . . .

I'm going to be watching the new CAT closely, as I intend to replace my Pred this year with either the CAT or an MR4-BC.

i know this is a bit of a whinge, but why don't schumacher put some CAD pictures of the CAT on their website? They did so with early pictures of the axis, axis II and mission and not to mention the Mi2 Does the fact that they are not showing pictures of it say that they are not that bothered with off-road anymore? OK, if they were not that bothered, why do a new off-road car? I think, having seen no pictures of it at all, is that they have lots of mission parts left over! Lets hope they get that rear pulley mended before they release the car this time!

OK whinge over, I'm going back to work!!!!! :-X

There arent any pictures on the Website because the car is at a VERY EARLY STAGE of development. There is still a long way to go in terms of evolving the car, so there is little point in posting pictures.

hmm, even though, they were very early pictures of the mission as well. But I take your point.

was the new cat running the mission style chassis layout? I hope so

Sorry to disappoint you Chris, but the prototype had offset saddle packs for optimum weight distribution.

blimey! looks like I'll have to go back to saddles in the future then! >:(

When you say off set, do you mean in the same way as the SST's? or offset as in the Axis Pro?

thats no different to the Cat3000 - do you know what else they have changed, or at least, were running on the prototype?

It is different, because on the Cat 3000 the cells are mounted opposite each other on either side of the car, whereas on the prototype, the cells are further forward on one side to the other, to help with weight distribution.

that makes mor sense - I didn't realise though that the weight distribution was that bad. the way that the current car flies certainly suggest that the weight distribution is fairly even anyway!

yeah i think the current 3000 is quite even - if mine had a motor in it i'd check it!!!

to be honest - i am tempted to buy another cat 3000 toreplace my current (tired) one. But knowing a new one is on the way makes me think i'll wait. especially if it is loaded with alloy goodies like the Mi2 seems to be!

New cat... does that mean they are planning on bringing out something to replace the 'blade too?

I hope so as i think the CAT is still very competive whereas the Fireblade is miles behind because of B4 mainly imo.

the fireblade has always been behind, in my opinion, ever since it was released practically. I know this will upset the Schumacher drivers, but it amazes me that these people can put them in the A final at national/regional events. If they got their hands on a B4 or XXX, then I am sure they would be untouchable! ;D
I have owned two fireblades, the firblade usa and the evo. The Evo was a huge improvement over the usa, but still not as good as a B3, and nowhere near as good as the B4/XXX
