Having just built my BK2 and tested it, I have noticed that the gear cover is touching the out drive and wearing away. Has anybody else found this or have I built something wrong ::)

not got this problem,

does the cover seem to fit the motor plate in all other areas?

Hi Chris, all the holes line up with the motor plate ok. The bottom of the motor cover (just below the lower motor screw) does not sit flush with the motor plate. It is being held off at the corner by the new aluminium rear pivot mount.

I didn't get a kit one, not sure if mine is the same,

does it have a kind of 'strenghening web' from the large bluge to where the pinion is?

can you trim it down?

Yes, it has the "strengthening web". I'm going to take the cover off now and carve it away a little bit although there is not much there in the first place.
It's as though the whole cover needs moving further back a mm or so.

maybe someone that built thier kit can help, I know some people on here have built theirs quite recently.

I just checked mine Chris, and it has exactly the same problem. Not run the car yet so I never noticed. The holes in the gear cover do appear to be drilled in the wrong place as mine was also hard to fit over the motor plate neatly, I think a small file in the holes to elongate them may well do the trick. ;)
