ANY idea's on where to start please ??
a full run down on a VERY stable set-up would be great if anyone has the time too help out here
it,s a fairly low grip carpet and proline purple's seem to be the tyre of choice by the top runners although i have the only tamiya car there :-[ so no one able to help with the set-up
i've also changed to a front diff in the hope of more stability, but the car is still very loose :'( :'(

I have only a little experience running foam on my 414. Like team tamiya said we need to know what your currently running, but i'll make a few suggestions
run the susp blocks low on the chassis, probably 0.7 FF, 0 RF, 0.7 FR, 0RR (hope you get what i mean). and no shims under top link.
Try running harder springs, like the white ones, or the super or ultra hard ones if you have them. use some thicker oil too. 60-70wt? Use blue/1.6mm F and blue R roll bars.
Personally i'd go back to a one-way aswell. Its the only way to go fast! Lay off the breaks, adjust you driving style, and you'll be fine.
Try some paragon on those foams if your allowed

thx's for your input ;)
First off your talking about the shims under the lower suspension mounts right ?
oneway's no good as the track is tight and technical and dad's reflex's are slow
everyone else no matter what the car are using soft springs mostly under 20pd's
big anti-roll bars sound good i just ordered them for my yoko sd which i'm normally finishing top 3 with
thick oils will make it easy to drive but will slow the cars ability to change direction quicky dramicicaly so i'm reluctant to go there
i don't really have a "set-up" at present dad raced it for the first time last week and when i say it was loose what i mean is was just all over the place and i'm looking for a "BASE" to start from
you know a safe go anywhere set-up
;) :) ;) :) ;) :) ;D

yes the shims under the lower blocks, and the top links. it lowers the roll center, which works nice with the traction you get from foams. running harder springs and thicker oil complement this setup.
one-ways are fast on tight tracks, so long as the grip is high. You say your track is low grip, so maybe your better off with a one-way. should be easier to drive also. personally id use a one way.
I dont know what the poundage on the tamiya springs are, but generally they're a lot softer than other manufactures. experiment, and see what works for you.
the thicker oil will help smooth the car out, i thought you wanted an easy to drive setup?
something i forgot to add was to run 0.5-1.5mm droop on the front, and 0mm-0.5mm on the rear. try it.
if you dont like what i say, then i suggest you setup your car up as per the instructions (wcr?), and work from there.
but a safe go anywhere setup wont be a fast go anywhere setup! get it dialed for YOUR track
