Over the weekend myself and Chris K ventured up to the Stonehaven track in Scotland for the MuchMore GP! Both of us concentrated on the 19turn day, and spent all friday practice working on the cars for the saturday 19turn event. At the end of fri practice we were both fairly happy with the car and its speed! 19 turn qualifying would see Chris K in 4th and myself (once again 2nd to mr K...lol) in 5th! We were both fairly pleased as the only people infront of us were Andy, Chris and Graig. Finals were a different story, in the first leg someone drove into the back of my car tucking the shell under and thus leaving me 10th! Whilst Chris K was up fighting for 4/5/6th! The second final didnt go too good for the pair of us either... did some tyre matching that cased the car to drive od for 4 mins! Subsequently meant we both dropped back... and my car had some extraudany speed in the second final, which when trying to overtake Alan Bikerstaff caused a few problems to say the least (sorry Alan) :o Thus I would end up 10th and Chris 5th! But we were pleased on our qualifying performance.
We had both entered for 6 cell mod for the sunday, which for Chris K went well... and for myself would be one of the worst days racing ever! Chris (as Im sure you all know) TQ'd and won... despite his best efforts to chuck it away in the 1st leg! lol But well done to him! Me, well lets say I didnt do a lap in qualifying nd had to ask race director Rob to put me in the bottom final! lol In the whole day I finished one run! The 1st qualifier I didnt run as it was raining, 2nd run the layshaft had come lose and I striped a spur gear (didnt fin a lap) and the third qualifier I went across the timing loop off the stagger and the car stopped dead after a screw had come loose on the spur adaptor and jammed solid agains the rear bulkhead! Ops! Like I said... bad day! But did the finals none the less...
Good weekends racing, good atmosphere in the pits with everyone having a good giggle! Long way to go, 9hrs by car to be exact, but well worth it. Look forward to next yrs MuchMore GP :)
