Hi Dave
I run the 13.5 novak with sintered rotor at garforth last time and it was the same speed as the 19 turn when geared right

I though 13.5 was supposed to be the same as 27t?
As soon as my club allows brushless I'm switching. Mainly to save money in the long term as well as to cut down on the effort of keeping it fast.
I've heard stories from the US and many seem to think they are similar (10.5 and 19t) People seem to think that brushless has an advantage but it is slight.

the 13.5 with the bonded rotor is supposed to be very similar to 27 turn but the 13.5 pro with the sintered rotor is way quicker than 27 turn
Tests in America has proven that:
On a slow twisty circuit a brushless will be quicker
(sintered 13.5 close to 19T performance)
(sintered 15.5 close to 27T performance)
but.....
On a fast flowing circuit a brushed motor is faster
(sintered 13.5 close to 27T performance)
Brushed motors have the revs whilst Brushless has the torque
