hi,

I have been struggling to get my xxx4 g+ set-up for brandons astroturf. my set up is as follows

green ballistic buggy spikes all round
Front
one way diff
zero degrees toe in
1 degree camber
7.5deg kick up
ackerman, forward
shock in middle hole on tower and inner hole on wishbone
blue springs
45wt oil
red pistons
internal spring
2 washers on spindle ball stud
1 washer under camber link stud
camber in hole 2 on tower

rear
2 degree inboard toein
1 degree outboard toein
ride height (wishbones level, then chassis level)
camber 1 degree
1 degree anti squat
shock in middle hole on tower
inside on wishbone
hub in middle
hole B on the hub
camber hole 3 on the tower
shocks
20 wt
red spring
red piston
b spacer inside
batteries forward

This set-up seams pretty good but it needs more on power steering, as i have to wait for the car too long in the corner before i can get the power down. Any advice would be great.

I also think the front end is too hard, but most people seem to run theirs like it?

Thanks
Alex

for UK tracks it seems we need to run it hard on the front.

it does not seem far wrong with the setup.

I would try outer hole on front wishbone and remove all limters and springs inside the shock and go with only 1mm or so inside.

this should help you carry more corner speed. not sure how it would change the way the car is on power but I think it is something worth trying

not sure where hole camber link hole 3 is on the rear tower but you should try a shorter link, though I have a feeling that 3 is the shortest.

softer rear spring?
also try batteries back, its a simple change that you can get a good back to back on.

a little advise on Brandon though, sometime the track changes more than the car, especiall when it is drying out. a few years back I pretty muched lived on that track and got lead down the garden path quite a few times as the changing track made my car better than my setup change! ::)

Chris,

I know what you mean, last weekend the tracks grip absoulotley dissapeared when the finals came round, as the temp dropped and damp came up!

I have the rear link in the shortest position, will putting it to the shorter position on the hub work?

I also had the batteries in the rear. i am definatley geetting there with the car and sunday was the first time ive felt that it really worked well, but it still seams that the car will loose rear grip when pushed hard, which is ok.

Cheers
Alex
