OK, I was wondering if anyone out there could knock me up some RC Lab 7-7 shocks towers from 2.5 or 3mm Carbon Fibre, but, there is a catch.

I would like to modify them so that I can use Schumacher body post mounting kits.

Marcus, maybe, if you are looking???

You can buy carbon towers for the lab anyway, although you can only get the Lab posts on them.

Why do you want to use Schumacher bodyposts?

Becuase they are MUCH easier to set up, as you can slide the posts up and down inside the mounting block, so you can get the height of the shell JUST right.

Funny you should say that, I absolutely hate trying to set up those infinitely adjustable Schuey posts, and much prefer normal ones ;D

I'd attach the front ones to the front bumper though, if you attach posts at the front shock tower then the nose of the shell won't be paticularly well supported.

thats a thought, I will have to check out if the blocks can go horizontal too...

Steve, You can get schumacher blocks that mount both vertically and horizontaly, available in either plastic or purple alloy. Let me know if you can't get hold of part numbers.

See Fibre-lyte, they can do pretty much anything.

I ain't very impressed in their Carbon Fibre, it being loose weave and all.

A few of their 12th chassis weren't that good, mainly the Calandra chassis - permanently tweaked! :-

Use the standard Lab body posts, there is absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Steve, if you want carbon shock towers, use the RCLab ones!

As much as they are rigid, it is easier for my tired brain to line up the body posts using Schumacher ones.

I suppose I could always adapt the RC Lab ones with a stay on the rear tower.

Steve you can get some foam pads to adjust the height finely.... and the Lab posts are bit more flext that Schu and in you hit something hard it is less likely to break the shock tower/bilkheads on the 7.7 club...

Frankly for the Club I'd say run it with the standard shock towers, (I actually thought the plastic ones are stronger and my car is still underweight...) you may just need to grind the bottom bit where the front camber link rubs the shock tower sometimes...

If you mount body posts to the front shock tower, depending on what shell you are using, the shell won't sit low enough.
