ok everybody
i have a problem with body posts that i have never had before.
on sunday i had a accident and bent a body post. it was so badly bent that it is now broken.( the accident was hard enough to detsroy a diff outdrive bering and break the rear diff screw)
has anybody had this problem where they broke a body post.
thanks for the time

I can't say i've either bent or snapped a body post before, but if you had an accident that was big enough to 'destroy a diff bearing' then it must have been a pretty major impact to the rear of the car. I'd rather a bodypost snapped instead of the tower it was attached to....
Was that a Type B diff screw that you broke?

Just wondering really - The M2 screw in there has been known to let go when a large load is applied to it.

I have broken two of them screws that go through the diff and both was when accerlerating (cant spell :D) off the line once at southend in the final when i took TQ in stock which is the worst posiable time and the second time when i ran mod for the open meeting of carpet wars when i pulled of fthe line
im sorry about my spelling im in the bottom set at school :'(

Strange that - but yes I've had two body posts break. Not in particularly big accidents. The body post was the only thing to break. ???

Guys, body posts are designed to let go before the shock is transmitted into some other more expensive part of the car, like a carbon shock tower. It is much cheaper to replace a post!

Ive taken out a body post as well. But that was only because i had not cut them down.
Another strange one was when i broke a diff half on the front. Nothing else just all the lovely plastic dropping off from under the car.
O/T Mike any news on any developments for the 7.7? Just intrested in seeing what you will have my money for next.
