I changed fro a Pro4 to a Cyclone Sport about 10 weeks ago and I’ve gone through 4 “C” hubs. 2 original left and right and 2 Pro4 spares left and right.
Is this common?
As I’m out of spares I thought I’d try the two 6degree caster hubs I have lying around, instead of buying new 4degree(standard) hubs.
I’m guessing this will stabilise the car a little on the straight but I will loose a little steering, is this right?
I also have a set each of 2 and 0 degrees.

I've never broken a single c-hub on my cyclone. Usually the wishbone will break (although I've never done one of those either!). The only front end parts I've replaced are the steering blocks as a result of wear.

The 6 degree blocks should give the car less corner exit steering, and more mid corner. This is due to a greater castor angle making the camber change greater through the suspension travel. More castor is also supposed to increase straight line stability, but I can't say I've noticed any difference really. However, I'm not aware that castor is something that any of the team changes very often. usually a 4 degree c-hub is the norm.

Over the past three years I've run both a Pro4 (until January this year) then the Cyclone Moore Speed. I broke one of the C hubs in the very early days of the Pro4 and replaced them with 4 degree aluminium ones... no further problems.

I haven't broken any on the Cyclone, perhaps I just hit things less often now.

Incidentally, I once reassembled the Pro4 wrong, I ended up swapping the left and right C hubs which gave me 4 degrees castor with the angle pointing forwards. Initial turn in was remarkable.... undriveable but remarkable :o

Could anyone give me a part number for the aluminium parts?
Or a dealer website please?
Cheers!

The HPI Part No is 31416. They'll set you back about £25 a pair.
Alternatively 3Racing Part No CY-21/PU are less than half the price.

I'll PM you a supplier.

Cheers, Kev.
