Well the first national of the season has come and gone. At the weekend we were at Snetterton with its fast flowing layout and unforgiving curbs! This meeting was to be the second outting for the team with the PHI, and for one member of the team his first (Mr Lissamore), so new car plus little track time meant alot of hard work from the team on the saturday, with lots of help from Mr Douglass. The cars were well balanced, had good grip and speed allowing all three drivers to put their PHI's in the final, with Chris Kerswell taking the TQ spot and a new lap record (almost breaking nto the 23rd lap  ), myself in fourth and Steve Lissamore in seventh. The finals would prove to be a walk over for Chris K, in both finals pulling away from the pack. I would get good starts in both finals and getting into 2nd by the first corner, but straight line speed would be an issue for me, and get overtaken by people in a straight line and trying to hard to keep infront of the rest of the pack would make lots of silly mistakes trying to catch up. So I would dissapointingly end up 8th  Steve L would drive well in both finals, despite being taken out and ending up last in the econd final, to finish 6th overall.

Up at Stafford, Good old Mr Andy Childs would put his PHI 9th on the grid in modified! Proving th PHI to be a car to take note of this season... with so little track time with this car I think the team did a great job.

Congrats to mr Kerswell! Good job.

WOW! Can't complain about that result!

The new car was stunning! Really easy to drive and very, very fast! Impressively it was almost as fast on 2nd or 3rd run tyres as it was on new ones, which is always a sign of an inherently good car.

I will be posting my setup in the setup thread this evening when I get a chance to type it up.

Congratulations to Mister Childs for his Stafford result as well.

This weekend definitely shows that the Phi is one to watch for 2007! Roll on round two!

Yep, great weekend. Well Done Chris, you were just gone in the finals!
Think we all agree that the Phi is pretty awesome: really balanced, fast and durable!:D

Pleased with the result if not for little bit of bad luck, but a great first showing for the new car me thinks.

(Oh and I got 5th CJ, not that it makes much difference!:D)

Well done on the TQ and win Chris...I was wondering if all that 1/12th running would pay off :D

I'll be at Round 2 for WLRC, so a chance to catch up then!

Cheers, Mark

*nods* I certainly hit less in the entire weekend than I normally would! Although i did get a lot of the crashing out of the way last weekend at WLRC where i was testing the strength of the new car  :p

Unfortunatly for you there will be less amusement for you at WLRC as I have a semi-clue how to build a touring car, and I have graham on hand to assist with setups. All this resulted in no super-glue incidents all weekend! :p

Go to 'google'
type 'jamrowls'
click 'im feeling lucky'

And if that doesn't work, then pack up your computer and send it back to the supplier, cos you're too stupid to own 1. :p

Good videos, will you be trying to do them at the rest of the meetings?

Stu

Thanks, take a look at the cotswolds F1 style vid, thats a nice one.
Every event I go to I try and film. The only problem is when I do well enough to get in the B or A as then im either marshalling or racing. But I dont think that will happen with the TC on tarmac for a while. So yes I will be :)
Just a shame I cant actually link to them on here after all the time and money I put into doing them.

LOL.... but seriouly. Even if you only did 15 laps.... 5 races plus a practice per meeting is 90 laps per meeting, thats over 1000 laps every 12 meetings!!!

Trust you to do the math.

What's more important than the number of laps you've done is your hit the D/not hit the D ratio. I think after the last club meeting Chris your ratio has taken a bit of a down turn. :D

so glad im soon to be joining this group (RDX, 80quid, cant complain) but from what i heard from the nationals the old RDX still does the job, a certain someone got 12th on his national debut with an RDX, so it must be good still!

Chris Delves

Indeed... the old RDX was (and still is) a very good car! There are plenty of set ups for it as wwell on this site... and there are some more on the Horizon Hobby UK auto site, which are more for outdoors. 12th isnt shabby at all... well done there!
