can anyone recommend a starting ratio or rollout for 4 cell stock.
thanks
Blooming high!!!
But can you please tell me why you are running 4-cell stock.
At most clubs I know of and the nationals it is either 4-cell mod or 6-cell stock running together.
I think Glyn tried 4-cell stock and ran about 75mpr.
(but was probably still undergeared ;D)

i'm going to the snowbird nationals in feb to run in thier 4 cell stock class, thats why (the stock is more popular than mod!).
thanks
Cor, how the other half live ;D
I presume that is stock motors, with fixed timing.
Are there any set ups from previous Snowbirds on-line somewhere. I guess the American sites might have more about it seeing as it is not a class raced in Europe.

good idea, better start searching.
and yes that is fixed timing, in fact the stock class has handout motors

What about going the other way and trying 6 cell modified (just for a laugh). It would be insanely fast! 8)

I think that when glyn ran his 4-cell stock car he ran a gearing of 45/90 and about 90 mm/rev
If i find any set-ups i'll let you know.

ah sorry guys.....appears in preperation for the forthcoming season it has been wiped. however im sure he was running 84mmpr.
also, its worth pointinmg out it wasnt a stock motor, it was an armature class motor.... dont know how that will affect the ratio's but it was worth pointing out.

was his car geared to keep up with the mod cars? couldn't that mean his motor was overgeared?

Glyn did run a stoopid ratio at Plymouth, however he was in my final and got the usual "must try harder" from Helen......... I'll leave the rest to your imagination!!

I tried my car 4 cell stock and manged to beat all the others, runing either 4 cell mod or 6 cell stock. Just kept my driving smooth and consistent.
I used 41.2 mmpr which was suggested on another board, and my car was plenty fast enough
