Which brushes to use? I've been told there are two brush types on offer, ones with silver shunts and ones with bronze.
I have the bronze, are these the 10-30 run brushes and the silver 1-6?

I understand the silver to be 1-5, but otherwise you're correct.

Thanks Dave, wasn't sure which ones I had (bronze). Thought they were lasting quite well - have done about 10 runs in 4WD modified. Cheers...

The reedy quasar brushes are very good they have the wear of the enduance brush and the performance of the sprint brush

the BRM brushes are the same as the orion/peak ones. the silver shunted brushes are orion/peak sprints (4-6 run) and the copper breaded ones are orion 10-30's. belive glyn also offers speacial treated ones for higher performance.

Aren't the orion sprint brushes 2-6 run?

It doesn't really matter if their 2 - 6 or 3 -6 or whatever.
If you run the sprint brush in an off-road car indoors 4wd then they wont last very long thats for sure, maybe 1 - 2 runs. The copper shunt brush is far better for 4wd buggies indoors. Outdoors in 4wd off-road then you will definately need the silver shunt brush as long as you use a sensible BRM wind motor like a 12 turn or 13 turn then the silver shunt brushes will last 2 or 3 meetings (not runs). Havn't had experience in other motors with these brushes but would imagine they perform the same.
