just in case anyone miss this info on the STCC site
In 2007 the Corally/STCC Championship, in conjunction with BBK-Software, will be the first electric on-road touring car championship series in the UK ever to run with full wireless race information available in real-time while the meeting progresses. This means that if you have a wireless enabled device with you such as a portable PC, a PDA, mobile phone or even a PSP! Then you will be able to actually see for free, yes at absolutely no cost to you whatsoever, the complete information about both the current race and the results as the day goes on, all from the comfort of your pit area!
all you need to do is type 192.168.0.100 into your web browser to see avaliable options

Stuart, where were you trying from? I understand this to be alocal transmission, so you have to be at the track...

I think you will find it is alocal wireless network, so unless you are actually at the meeting you will not get the signal.

Just shows there is an interest for hooking the live results up to the net though...
Stuartb would you have been prepared to pay a small fee to see what was happening live, like some of the US races?
Would anyone else have been checking out the results as they happen.
I suspect the answer is no, and not many, but it would be nice to go check out live results as they happen around the country on a sunday... wait, but why would you be at home, you'd be racing somewhere...
Shame mobile internet costs money..

this was just a local network track side
not the live (and FREE to view)webcasts that BBKrc do for the major meetings that they time

To get "live" results to the outside world the track requires an Internet connection and I don't think many outdoor tracks would have this facility.

Did bring the laptop down to Southend yesterday out of curiosity with bbkRC Netscreen loaded -- but, evidently, the wrong version :(. Didn't realise about the page in the web browser though.
What version of Netscreen should I be running?

Simon, you don't run any, all you need is a device with wireless connectivity capability and a browser, then as per the instructions:
To access the trackside realtime race information being broadcast directly from the race control computer, if you are trackside all you need to do is type 192.168.0.100 into the web browser on your device to see available options.

when you enter "192.168.0.100" into your browser you get a menu screen
click on PC option and you can download the correct version of drivernet from the race control PC
the older version wont work bacause we are running the 2007 version of bbkRC.thats not on general release as yet
if you have problems connecting on the day come see me in race control

is this a browser based thing, or does it involve downloading an application? basically, will it run on a mac?

there is actually 2 separate outputs
the PDA part of the network is browser based so should work OK(works on pda's.mobile phones.psp's etc)
but the full screen version is PC based

Just to clear this up a little.
You need to enter 192.168.0.100 into your browser, after searching for and connecting to the trackside wireless router. This will display the following screen.......
Selecting the PDA option, will provide you with a range of screens, all designed to display on the typical PDA format screen, and will (should) display perfectly well on ANY device, including PC's and Mac's. The "PDA" browser based version, will work on ANY device with wireless networking connectivity and a browser, no matter what the device. This will display the cut down screens, such as.......
To get the full screen display version, which is for PC only devices, you should select "DriverNet for PC" to see the following screen, download the driver, and install it before you can load the screens.
I hope this in now clear to all.........
