mine is the same with 4aa cells... it's quick enough to be good fun though. with a 6 cell pack, there should be a considerable improvement in speed and power... then i'll be bolting in a mod :)

after ballraces etc first of course.... ;D

love the car though.... lol it's just sooooooo dinky!

just remembered, there was a video clip on losi's website which was the kit truck, with kit motor, and a 6 cel pack.... looks well fast!

Best thing to do is get a 7.2v pack in the mini t ASAP, it is miles better than the AA's, gives a lot more power and you can pop wheelies for fun!! i would also get the ballraces as it does make a big difference! next thing on my list is a mod motor now....... ;)

you got one then Si?

with regard to mods, ball races in the front wheels seem to be a good start.

TEAM-LOSI said they would like to bring out alot of hop-ups for it because they still want it to be a competitive little thing. And with clubs starting to run races......if TEAM-LOSI notice this then maybe there will be a bigger craze than there already is :o :)!

Yea had my one for a couple of days now ;D they are alot of fun but looking at all ways possible to make it FAST!

I have seen on ebay.com batterys for sales upto 9.6v but not sure if the speedo will take it but it would make the little beast move!!,

Got to get a modified motor plate and a bigger motor as it is starting to feel a little slow but it is cool!! :)

Anyone got the ball races yet?
What sizes are they?

Are there any motors that are a direct fit?

ballraces for wheels are 8*4 mm..the gearbox is already done.

i know that you can get the 280bb(ballbearing) motors from various manufactures, graupner do a race speed one,not sure of the price tho.

you can make a graupner speed300 fit,it just needs the holes extending as the bolt holes are further apart, thats it,get the 6v version,29,000rpm no load :).best of all only cost £7-£8.

Specification
Nominal voltage 6 V
Operating voltage range 1,2 ... 6 V
No-load rpm 29000 min1
No-load current drain 0,7 A
Current drain at max. efficiency 5 A
Current drain when stalled 28 A
Max. efficiency without gearbox 65 %
Length of case, excl. shaft 30,8 mm
Diameter 24,4 mm
Free shaft length 7 mm
Shaft diameter 2 mm
Weight 50 g

try the graupner site dom look for motors..try these 3:
speed 280 6v..think its pretty much the kit one
speed 300 6v(not the 7.2 unless your gonna use 8 cells,its a bit lame)
speed 330 bb (same style as 540 mod with brushes/springs/ballraces i believe)
http://www.shop.graupner.de/webapp/commerce/command/ExecMacro/Graupner/macros/main.d2w/report?lang=en&show_cat=5466
you will have to navigate to motors as it wont let me link direct.

ive tried 2 sets of cells,7.2v 1300 cells and 7.4v 880mah li-poly,both make a huge difference with just the stock motor, but the li-poly is the best, pulls wheelies the length of the room from a standstill and can lift the front wheels when travelling at walking speed.

I gave in to temptation and got one yesterday.

It's slow on Alkaline AA's, but noticably quicker on 1800mAh rechargeable Ni-Mh AA's. Mine will now wheelie on carpet when doing a quick reverse-to-forward, and donuts on the kitched lino are fun!

Hopefully Doom can get some Orion 7.2V packs/ballrace sets/motors/shocks in, then it will be even better. ;D

yip, with a 7.3 pack, the truck is transformed. worth every penny. especially when you "borrow" if off a mate with a micro RS4...lol ;D

wheelie central... ;D

Just swapping out the 4AA alkalines for Nicds or Nimhs will improve the performance, and upgrading to a 5 or 6 cell pack will make a significant difference. Any more cells and you run the risk of blowing the ESC..

if you want more speed, give dom a pm..he has some very cheap go faster goodies for it
