Hi,

I should have a losi bk2 pretty soon, has anyone used one yet and if so what set-ups are working. Is it much different to the old xxx?

The car will mainly be run on astro turf (in the wet!) at OXON buggy clubs fine astro track and Brandons/coventrys astro.

Cheers
Alex

You've made a good choice of car, I reckon the new car is going to be a major improvement in the uk.

Typically shock set ups have stayed more or less the same, i.e. 666 pistons and 25 to 35 oil.

The wishbone lengths are still under some debate but here's my version:

Front long - front stays flatter in turn, helps in fast and/or long corners but kills some initial and mid corner steering. Slippy then short, grippy then long at this point.

Rear long - very consistent with a similar feel at all times, short gives more steering from the rear and has been faster for me so far (again others think differently!!! oh the fun?!)

Otherwise just set it up as xxx, basically for me the car is faster and MUCH more consistent, meaning you can drive with much more commitment than before, I already feel more at home with this car than I did in years with the previous one, that's gotta be a good thing!

It also responds to set up changes in a predictable and sensitive manner. This makes it easier to set up once you get a head round what changes matter the most.

Doesn't seem to keen on a crutch (rear roll bar) either, which is great because it doesnt need one (unlike old car!).

Thanks for the info...

A few more questions..

What are the silver ball studs for? I know they have a shorter neck, but why? And are they stronger than the black ones as i usually run titanium ones in the rear bulkhead as they used to break alot!

How many degrees of anti squat should i start with, i used to run 6 on the old xxx?

Cheers

I have been running the car with 0 anti squat. seems good, but I have not raced it on grass or astro yet. but it seems happy with just a little anti squat.

I have not actually got a BK2 kit yet so dont know what you mean by silver ball studs. if they are the ones that you use an allen driver on indead of a nut driver then they are the Ti ball studs. use them in the load bearing areas. I didin't know they had a shorter neck.

The ones he means are the ones off the tc which you use on the rear end mod on your XXX4 purley because they have a shorter neck and they are still alloy.
