80700 is the competition version - now "07 comp" but with same part number.

80500 is the origional version - pre competition.

:) As this thread is entitled LRP Brushless I thought I'd ask here first. I'm looking at going brushless for mine & my sons Predator XRS (4WD) buggies. The system recommended by my LHS is the LRP X11 Vector 4.5 T, is this going to be excessive as LRP quote 538 watts power for this motor which seems pretty potent to me.
We don't want to be completely out of control!:)

just seen this run in 12th on 4 cell and OMG is it quick  . G only knows what it'll be like on 6 cells. Certianley pulls out of the corners. Motor its self has more of a feel of a brushed motor when spun over by hand.

MY personal view is that a 4.5 is far too much for off rd. Most people i know are running 6.5/5.5 in 4wd off rd.

Bear in mind, we are looking at 4.5's instead of 7 turn brushed motors. Now you wouldn't run a 7 turn in an off rd car would you??

:) MattW I was looking for something the equivalent of 10 - 12 turn but the guy at my LHS reckoned 6.5 for 2WD & 4.5 for 4WD. Personally I was thinking the 6.5 would be quick enough but I just wanted to get the advice of those in the know before I spend my money.
I'm assuming if I buy the comp controllers to handle the 4.5 I can run the 6.5 and get the 4.5 later if need be?:)

For the size of Coastals off road track I would have thought a 6.5 would have been plenty powerful enough as the track is not that big.

Last time I was at Coastal I ran a 9x2, and never hit flat out down the straight, and that was using the smallest pinion I had in my box!!!

Usually people have been running 6.5 in 2wd and 5.5 in 4wd with bonded rotors. Chris Long ran a 6.5 with a sintered rotor on sat night in 4wd and it was PLENTY fast enough for the track.

I often think people run too fast brushless motors on tracks which are quite small just because they can (their choice but slower per lap). If it's not a big track I'd go 6.5 sintered I think (only BRCA legal after April).

spot on

happening in 12th this season.

I guy has a fast 1 so every 1 else feels the need to do the same. Probably why there's a lot more crashing across the heats. I'm no different though. I've just put a 4* in my 12th. May give the 3* a try this weekend @ Clay Cross 12th meeting

:) Glenn, Do you have to buy the sintered rotor seperately or do they do a 6.5 already fitted with a sintered rotor?:)

so is the name the only real difference or are their other benefits of the new version
