Hi I'm new to the Forum and new to RC Cars so I hope you will bear with me whilst I ask loads of stupid questions!
I will try to use the search facility to prevent going over old ground but inevitably some of the things I'll ask will have been asked 1000's of times before. ::)
Question 1.
My son has a Baja King (surprise, surprise) and would like to drive it on tarmac. To save the knobblies from an early grave can anyone recommend some smoother tyres that will fit the Baja's large diameter rims? ???
He's tried some touring car wheels off his mates Subaru TL01, which worked OK, but it did leave it wofully short of ground clearance. :-

If I remember right, the wheels are something like 2.2ins in diameter. If so, then could buy some HPI Super size wheels and tyres. They have a hex fitting and would bolt straight on.

Tyres to suit above wheels: http://www.hpieurope.com/tyres.php?lang=en&catId=sprtyr

Garry.
Your memory is good they are actually 54mm (2.125 ") which close enough for me!
I've had a quick squint on the 'net but to be honest the cost may be prohibitive @ £6 a wheel.
Maybe there is a cheaper alternative?

Thanks for the info.

Bob.

I too am a newbie and guess what got a Baja King have recently ordered a new set of wheels and tyres due to a screw up while building the kit and they only cost me £23 complete with postage.
if you want i'll IM you who i got them from as i don't think we are allowed to advertise on this board.
Got pin tyres but i'm sure you can get others that will fit the wheels

Hi there

I think you will find that most 2.2 buggy tyres should fit, have a look at Proline, i think they used to do "road" tyres for buggies.

Good luck
