now then....

I have a v12 which just for fun I want to mess around to achieve the highest top speed possible. I have seen the one on you tube with two motors but want to go the single motor route...I was going to go with my 10 turn motor as a start point with a 6 cell pack. Work onwards from there...

How can I gear it for max top end? Would I be best swapping to normal 48 or 64dp gearing instead of the standard mardave spur's and pinions?

Any advice is welcomed?

I tkink you might be better swapping to 64 or 48 DP if possible, the mardave pinion options seem very limited

i would use the same mardave spur gears and put big tyres on the back with the biggest pinion you have, with a 10 turn motor that would be very interesting:D

i could do that to start sam as I have a set of ufra's that are not trued down yet so are fairly large.

I had the same daft idea & went the single motor route too. Calculated theoretical max speed was 59.something mph with this setup.....:D

That looks mad, and hard to drive. Like the wieght on the front tho:D

Just wondering, how long do the tyres last on it Mr.C???

Not very long.....
Fronts get wiped out from terminal on power understeer: rears seem to chunk a bit. Both ends basically fly apart at full chat though.

Yep, they last longer but balloon a bit & foul the shell if I try to steer when she's wound up. Had a bit of a prob keeping them stuck a couple of times as well - smaller glue area.
She doesn't get out too much so I'm not bothered if it costs a set of tyres at a time: not at Mardave prices.
