Have you got any pictures Matt?
Anybody know about the legality of the Trinity reference shell, the T-310 Can am car?
Once again, Trinity have produced a slot car shell >:(
Had a look at the Cefx shell at the weekend, looks very nice and even looks like the real sportscar (they had photos of to get it legal).

Hi
The CEFX shell is a model of the DBA4-03S (Reynard 02S) which was run by RN Motorsports, under the Den Bla Avis banner for John Nielsen.
(These were the photo's circulated at Mold)
And its not a bad effort to be honest (IMHO), pictures can be found on www.mulsannescorner.com (which incidentially carries pics of most of the LMP / GroupC car we race, inc the P35 nissan)
Jim
Honestly, at least I knew what I meant :-[
I could have told you the driver and team, just got the important bit wrong :P
And yes, it does look nice.

i thought exactly the same as jim... it actually looks more realistic than most!
i think the new trinity body, to be honest, is taking the micky a bit
top props to josh for making this body though ;)

we shant go down this train of thought again eh?
everyone knows my, all the people at my clubs views.. and we have to live with it till the next egm
i doubt the trinity body will be approved, and it can only fit the new trinity anyway.
i believe rctech has some CEFX bodyshell pics, as do some of the US shops.... have a look around :)
i've said my peace... no more talk on the body rule, far too many people with VERY different views.
thanks

yeah slot cars are cool. The wing car bodies are causing problems in slot car racing at the moment, so i understand, and slightly more realistic bodied cars (not as realistic as the trinity though!) are the choice of more racers
Matt - 1968, Tottenham Model Raceway installed an AMF King track (see picture here http://www.2fords.net/scaleautoracing.com/SlotHistory/history.html) and we raced 1/32 scale cars. It was 166 feet long and we managed about an 8 second lap time. Then along came 1/24 scale cars from the US, and we could lap the track in about 5 seconds.
Today, the lap record for a King stands at a fraction over two seconds. That is 166 feet in two seconds - almost 60 mph average. They use rare earth magnets in the motors, which rev to over 200,000 rpm. Bad-ass? - you bet!!
If you follow the link at the bottom of the page above to the photo gallery, and look halfway down for the picture of Jim Hall's Chapperal 2D (the caption says 2E) - I had one of those! I think George has one in his collection too! :)

I don't like that much. I prefer the look of closed cockpit shells (ie the bentley and nissan p35)

The new Trinity T310 will not be approved for use in BRCA 1/12 meetings in the 2003/2004 season.
The car is a representation of a 1972 Lola CanAm car, models of CanAm cars are not allowed on the list. Only Group C, GTP or LMP shells are allowed.
As a matter of interest here is the real thing

personally i think the side profile is quite accurate... well as accurate as any!
but as russ has explained, its a CanAm

I don't think I could get either of these bodyshells over my Associated chassis. I've just painted a Hot bodies Ferrari and I had to cut the driver figure out of that in order to get it to fit!

Mark, I'm assuming the Ascari fits the AE and that is fairly low, so i would have thought others would.............. see, car without centre shock, i knew it was the way forward ;D 8) :P
