Help me get into IC

Hi all,

I've been racing Electric for a few months and while I fully intend to keep doing this I am also considering getting into another class. Straight away I started thinking about Off Road Electric (I used to race it long ago) but then I had a sudden flash.......Nitro :D

I won't be able to get into it straight away due to money etc... needing to go on rent. However I wondered if anyone knew of a Nitro Club in the Bath/Bristol/Swindon area, either On or Off Road, that I could go and visit to see if I like it.

I know microTech stock a fair amount of IC stuff so there must be somewhere nearby to use it ;)

Any help welcomed :D Also how much money would I need to be looking at to go into competitive IC racing? I don't want to go through the whole process of "upgrading" my stuff after a few months, had enough of that with Electric :).

reciver battery
servo for throttle / steering
fuel
as an estimate your going to be over £500
best bet have a word with kevin (microtech)and see whats nearest track and prices

Nearest tracks to Bath/BristolSwindon area for On-Road Nitro is:
Mendip, situated just outside Weston-Super-Mare.
Aldershot, Surrey Hampshire border.
And possibly Tiverton.

Cartman, how can you recommend the new Hobao GP4 when it hasn't even been released yet, unless you know something we don't! :-X :-X :-X

Don't forget the new Serpent 710, which looks very promising.

the car is out on the tracks in tiwan and doing good, just because its not released does not mean no one knows how it goes and its no good! go look in a dictionary "test" "prototype" you must be some rodney trotter to say a car can not bet recomended by some one as its not been released. and if you care to read the post i said WAIT for the new Hobao not go and buy one now!
so go play some where else!
