Hello, ive started a new serious attempt for the electric rc land speed record after my other one went wrong and fizzled out because i was racing alot last year. Ive been seriously thinking about how etc and now ive got my final few ideas im seeing which would be the best/most reliable and easiest to impliment.
So......
Im looking for a belt and pulley manurfactuer (sp) thats in the UK. I remember someone saying something about one before but ive searched and cant find the web address.
My requirements are basically
1x pulley with a diameter of about 3-5cm
1x pulley with a diameter of about 2.5 cm
1x belt around 17-20cm long that is the right pitch to go in both pulleys
both pulleys and the belt must be able to withstand at least
70,000 rpm (if not more) and all the implications that come with that type of speed i.e heat, belt not snapping etc. Max width of pulleys will be around 7.5-10mm, preferbly the lower end of the scale if not smaller taking the reliability issues into account.
Also thinking about it now, bearings, i'll need 4 bearings of usual hub size probly tc size maybee 8th circuit size, that will cope with
70,000+rpm used for the front wheels which will free-wheel i.e not powered. and lastly 2 bearings that will bear the main load of the motor that will again take 70,000+ rpm will be 8th scale size most probably.
Any/all help is welcome
Jon
