Hi Paul. It really depend on the type of track you are racing on! A One way will carry more corner speed, but you cant break with it! So, ideally a long flowing track will requier a one-way to carry all the speed! Where as, a small tight track that has lots of hairpins will need a spool or diff possibly! With either of these you can break, which means you can get in and out of the corner faster, because you can drive hard into the corner, break, turn and get on the gas again! I never run a diff (only on rare occasions) because the spool will drive out of the corner faster than the diff will, because with a diff the wheels can rotate at different speeds... whereas with a spool when you get on the gas both wheels drive and literally pull you out of the corner!

At the weekend (at CW) we all tried aspool, because we all agreed that we needed to break at the end of the main straight... when we tried it we all went slower even though we could get into and out of the corner at the end of the straight! Put the one-way back in and the car felt more free in the corners, carried more speed and felt that we all just had to learn to drive that one corner without breaks...

It is totally dependant on the type of track you are racing on though as to whether you run a one-way or spool! I always try to run a one-way as I know the car will carry more corner speed with a one-way.

Don't know if that helps at all... but thats my take on it!

Chris
