Are there any nationaly accepted rules for racing the 1/18th scale cars ie. motor / battery restriction, max & min dimensions and race duration, contact/non-contact racing?
If so where can I find them and if not what seems to be general conscensus of opinion regarding which chassis are legal and what hop ups are allowed.
Many thanks

I don't think there are any in the UK as yet. However, I did find some rules that have been adapted overseas. Take a look at www.imcra.org , there is a section headed IMCRA updated rule book. These people are a new organisation looking to make smaller Micro car racing more popular.
At the moment the general consensus is that with the 180 sized motor you should run with five cells (stock class) or run with the Speed 300 (Big Bore) Motor with six cells (Modified class). I run a club, but we run (and would like to stick to running) six cells with the 180 size motor. I think this is what the Carpet Wars rules run to (if heats do run) Carpet Wars only allow rubber tyres also, no foams.

We run similar rules at Ipswich - any hop ups allowed but only the stock motor, as we feel this levels every thing out

Cheers for the info.
In keeping the UK 'standards' then any hop ups allowed but the 180 motor and 6 cells are the limit.
Are any 1/18th scale chassis allowed to compete against each other or is it just HPI vrs HPI, Kyosho vrs Kyosho?

I think most clubs allow any 1/18 touring cars, some may only allow 4WD cars but there are also some 2WD ready to run cars available.
