I have just started racing again after a few years away from the hobby and need some help in setting up my TC3. I race indoors at leighton buzzard on tuesday nights. I am using T27's and a stock motor. The grip is good but I am the only one there with a TC3 so it is difficult to get a set up. All help is greatfully received.

Hi Lee, no you're not the only one ;D
The Silver Stratus shell that trys very hard to keep up with you (two places behind you this week and last week) has a TC3 underneath (well, most of it is a TC3) You're car looked fine to me (from behind :()
I can share my set up, but as you beat me already....................................
Hi Lee'
You could take a look here http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/cml_setup.htm the Craig Drescher/Woodson Park setup uses T27's

Have looked at cml site craigs set is from 2002 surley things have moved on since then?
My car always seems to have less grip then everyone else.
What difference do the inserts make?

Inserts make alot of difference, more so depending on the tyre you run at Leighton Buzzard. T27's work for me, with a medium moulded insert in the front and a soft moulded insert in the rear. Grip is cr*p for the first 5 or 6 laps (I try and get as many warm up laps as pos in before the start) then comes on, and is fine in the latter half of the race.
What set up do you run?

I am running firm inserts in the front and soft in the back. I am about to try firm inserts all round as per craig D's set up.
Have been runing sort wheel base but may try med to get some more rear end. Car is a bit to grippy on the front end. Need it the whole car to slide rather than just the back.
go back this week and just lean the shocks in, one, and then try the most inner hole!
It will alow the rear to role, giving it a little more grip,
I couldnt get my car runnning fast with T27's tho, there are quicker tyres

I'm running modified in my TC3 and have tried loads of inserts but at the moment I'm running T27s on 26mm rims with Peak/Orion JJB Blue inserts (only the larger outer insert/not the smaller inner one). By far the best I've tried... ;D

I hope that this helps Lee. long time no see. I can not have an old mate struggling can I.
All the best Richard Barton..
Front
40w Gold No2
Rear shock tower on the Front . Cut 1-2mm of the plastic on the ball joints to allow the shock collar to drop lower. It is the only way to get the 4.5 ride height with this tower.
4.5 mm ride height
roll bar connected.
Shock outside on the wishbone and inside on the tower.
Camber links high and long
normal diff in the front.
0 Kickup with 4 degree caster ( make it smooth )
rear
35w Blue No2
Shock Outside on the wishbone and Middle on the shock tower.
Camber links High and long
3 degree toe in and 2 degree kickup
5mm ride height.
Hint for stock. Run the trim on the throttle up 5 clicks so when you have no throttle on the stick, the car still creeps along. This will make the car carry more speed. If not the car just about dose an endow when you let go of the stick because of the drag with the slow 27t motors. (Boring but can be good fun on a small track). In T27 Run Jaco blue or anything with a big air gap. Make sure that when you get t27s they look really black in colour. If they are grey then do not buy them as there is a faulty batch going around. The black a greasy looking ones are the best.

Just a mention that Richard's setup won the A final at MK 2 weeks ago, but then he could drive a brick better than most of us... ;D
AND this was after he picked up 2 disqualifications in qualifying for being too low, so had to get rid of his favourite 4.5mm ride height in the front!
No mercy, even for top drivers at MK!

maybe stand put the fr shocks on the middle hole on the shock mount and change the springs to blue. But I would give it a go as it is. It should be fine.
