Help, i have a b3 (well a few) and the motor looking from the pinion end runs anticlockwise, now i have a yoko sd and it appears that the motor will have to run in the opposite direction, any thoughts, will it damage the motor, or is this the case with all cars, some go one way others the opposite

My thought is that all motors run counter-clockwise, and that they will all make your SD go forwards!! :)

Appearances can be deceptive - some people think Liz Hurley is attractive!! ;D ;D

You do not have a problem with the motor, fit it and it will work.

David, that cant be so, otherwise you could not run a stock motor in it as you can't adjust the timing to make it run well backwards, are you sure this is so?

my initial thought was that all motors are designed to run anti-clockwise, therefore is it possible that the diffs in my car could be assembled incorrectly. I have checked the rotation required and it is the opposite to what i expected

On a modified motor, you could if you set the timing to -12 degrees instead of +12, it will happily run backwards, but this is not possible on a stock motor.

well, i think he is using a 12x3.

when i had the yoko i just soldered the - onto + and so on.

was a bit easier than chaing the diffs around at track side.
